After God and my family, practicing medicine has been my passion. 

 

I spent one year in a family practice residency and then finished a five year general surgery program in Grand Rapids in 1991. I am board certified in general surgery. My practice has always included general surgery and primary care. 

 

In our primary office care we enjoy caring for a variety of chronic health probems including diabetes, hypertension, and chronic pain. 

In my office surgery practice I treat various diseases and perform multiple procedures including removing lumps, bumps, sewing up cuts, removing skin cancers, office vasectomy, gynecologic procedures.

 

At the hospital I also enjoy the challenge of treating gallbladder and stomach problems, hemorrhoids as well as breast and colon cancer. I also have experience in some of the latest laparoscopic and endoscopic techniques including single port cholecystectomy or gallbladder removal.

 

Those who have met me can confirm that I am a latter day convert to medical missionology in the villages of Northeast India. My second family lives there.

Now at this point in my career, I am pursuing intermittent medical missionology efforts in the underserved US Virgin Islands.  But please rest assured that I return frequently to continue my current medical care at our Stanton office, at Sheridan Community Hospital, and house calls.
